The third Silver Palace beta: Dichotomy: Retrace

二分法:回归

The Dichotomy: Retrace Technical Test is recruiting on Android, iOS and PC. How to sign up, and what Dichotomy testers still have to do.

Recruiting · survey closes October 10, 2026

The third Silver Palace beta has a name. Elementa announced the "Dichotomy: Retrace" Technical
Test
on September 23, 2026, and recruitment is open now. It runs on Android and iOS, with PC
available at the same time, which makes it the first Silver Palace test on phones.

This page covers how to sign up, what Dichotomy testers still have to do, and what has been
published about the build. The announcement breakdown
has the full rundown of the recruitment FAQ.

Quick answer

Fill in the official recruitment survey
before October 10, 2026 at 18:00 (UTC+8). That is 10:00 UTC, 12:00 CEST and 11:00 BST. You
must be 18 or older, and submitting it enters you for selection rather than guaranteeing a place.

If you already qualified through the Dichotomy surveys, you still have to submit this survey.
Elementa grants you access directly once you do, and sends you nothing if you do not.

The test dates have not been announced.

How to sign up

  1. Open the Dichotomy: Retrace recruitment survey.
  2. Answer the device questions for the phone and PC you will actually use. The platform you are
assigned comes from those answers, and access binds to the device of your first login.
  3. Submit before October 10 at 18:00 (UTC+8).
  4. Wait for a notification by email or another official channel. Selected players sign a
Non-Disclosure Agreement before the test starts.

Elementa has not said when notifications go out, only that it will confirm the timing later.

The test at a glance

Dichotomy: Retrace
Type Limited, confidential technical test under an NDA
Recruitment September 23 to October 10, 2026, 18:00 (UTC+8)
Test dates Not announced
Platforms Android and iOS, with PC at the same time
Cross-save Between PC and mobile on the same account
Devices At most one PC, one iOS and one Android device per account
Age 18 and over
Data Wiped when the test ends
Purchases None

Eligibility is not shared between mobile platforms, so an iOS slot does not cover an Android
device. Changing devices during the test gets the account banned.

If you qualified through Dichotomy

Elementa laid the groundwork for this test in two earlier announcements.

On July 23, 2026 the Dichotomy rewards post told testers to complete the designated survey and
automatically obtain access to the third beta test. On August 26 Elementa published a results page
where testers log in to an Elementa Passport account with the email address they used for
Dichotomy and see whether they qualified.

The Retrace announcement adds a step. Players who obtained access through the Dichotomy Beta Test
must complete the new recruitment survey and provide additional information. Once they do, they
are granted access directly. If they do not, they receive no further notifications or invitations
about the test.

So a yes on the August results page is a place held for you, not a place you have. Submit the
survey before October 10.

How the Dichotomy survey access worked

The surveys arrived in the in-game Mail system as you cleared progress milestones. You needed both
Experience Surveys plus one more, and the window shut a day before the servers did.

Survey Unlocked by
Experience Survey (I) Clearing Main Quest Act II, Scene II
Experience Survey (II) Clearing Main Quest Act IV, Scene III
In-Depth Survey: Combat Act IV cleared, plus a set combat challenge
In-Depth Survey: Exploration Act IV cleared, plus 30% exploration in six areas

The window ran from the start of the test to August 12, 2026 at 10:00 (UTC+8). Testers who
qualified got an in-game notification mail at around 12:00 (UTC+8) the following day.

Elementa ran the same mechanic in January on a lighter requirement, one Experience Survey plus one
In-Depth Survey. It also published the Monotype results as a public list of masked UIDs, updated
daily from January 16 to 19. Dichotomy asked for more surveys and moved the results behind a
private login. Both changes went the same direction. More work per invite, and no public roster of
who received one.

How to check whether you qualified

The in-game announcement telling Dichotomy testers that completing the designated survey grants automatic access to the third beta test

The in-game notice from the Dichotomy build, stating the survey window and the automatic invite to the third beta test.

If you played Dichotomy and filled in the surveys, the check takes a minute.

  1. Find the email address registered to your Dichotomy account. Eligibility is bound to that
address, not to your in-game name or UID.
  2. Register or log in to an Elementa Passport account using that exact address.
  3. Open the Dichotomy Beta Test Survey Event Results Inquiry announcement on the official site and
    follow its check link.

A mismatched address returns nothing. Elementa flagged this during Monotype as well, telling
players to double-check that the email on the survey matched the one on the test account, because
inconsistent information made them ineligible. Whatever the result says, the Retrace survey is
still the step that gets you an invite.

What is in the build

Elementa describes Retrace as a performance-optimised version of Silver Palace whose content is
"largely consistent" with the Dichotomy Beta Test. Expect the Dichotomy cases, districts and cast
on a reworked client. The Dichotomy beta guide covers what that content
was.

The announcement is candid about the state of it. Device compatibility, performance and visual
quality are still in development, and testers are told to expect overheating, frame-rate drops and
stuttering.

This is the test the August feedback response pointed at. That post said performance "still
requires further optimization" and that a future test would introduce a mobile version. It also
listed repair work on the combat camera, lock-on, status readability, a Dialogue History feature
and the open world. Our post-Dichotomy roadmap
breakdown
goes through that list. Elementa
has not said which of those fixes are in the Retrace build, and "largely consistent" content
suggests the answer is mostly the performance work.

For PC, the last published figures are still the Dichotomy specs on the system requirements
page
. No mobile device list or requirements have been published.

The timeline so far

Event Date Gap
Monotype ended January 18, 2026
Dichotomy recruitment opened June 26, 2026 159 days later
Dichotomy started July 23, 2026 27 days after recruitment opened
Dichotomy ended August 13, 2026
Survey results check opened August 26, 2026 13 days later
Retrace recruitment opened September 23, 2026 41 days after Dichotomy ended
Retrace recruitment closes October 10, 2026 17 days later

Retrace turned around four times faster than Dichotomy did. That fits a test of the same content
on new hardware rather than a new slice of the game.

The App Store listing still carries an expected release date of January 31, 2027. Apple requires a
date on any listing that takes pre-orders and developers routinely enter a movable placeholder. The
release date page tracks what each storefront says.

Do not buy access

Search for this test and marketplace listings selling guaranteed access come up. They do not work.

Elementa's recruitment FAQ strictly prohibits transferring or selling the test client or a test
account, and revokes testing privileges immediately for anyone found doing it. Access also binds
to the device used for the first login, and changing devices during the test gets the account
banned. A purchased account is therefore either bound to the seller's hardware, where it bans the
moment you use it, or it was never eligible to begin with.

The NDA makes this worse, not better. Nobody selected can post footage from the test, so any
"Retrace gameplay" or client download offered publicly is either old Dichotomy material or a scam.

The routes that have ever worked are the official recruitment survey and the in-test feedback
surveys. Elementa also runs community events and Twitch Drops raffles, as it did during Dichotomy.
Nothing else.

The test history so far

Three tests, and the third is the first that is not about adding content.

Monotype ran January 13 to 18, 2026 on PC. Five days, seven playable characters, one district, and
the core loop under examination.

Dichotomy ran July 23 to August 13, 2026 on PC. Three weeks, 15 playable characters, a male
Detective option, combat rebuilt around stamina and stun, a structured interrogation interface,
and a much larger Silvernia. Elementa put the build at over 40 hours. The Dichotomy beta
guide
covers what was in it, and Monotype vs
Dichotomy
is the full side by side.

Dichotomy: Retrace takes that content to Android and iOS, keeps PC alongside, and puts the whole
thing under an NDA. The platforms guide covers where that leaves console.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a third Silver Palace beta test?

Yes. It is the Dichotomy: Retrace Technical Test, announced on September 23, 2026. Recruitment
runs until October 10, 2026 at 18:00 (UTC+8). It is a limited, confidential test under an NDA, with
a data wipe and no in-game purchases. The test dates have not been announced.

How do I sign up for the Silver Palace beta test?

Submit the Dichotomy: Retrace recruitment survey on Elementa's survey site before October 10, 2026
at 18:00 (UTC+8), which is 10:00 UTC and 12:00 CEST. You must be 18 or older. Submitting enters you
for selection, and selected players are notified by email or other official channels and must sign
an NDA before the test starts.

Is the Silver Palace beta on mobile?

Yes. Dichotomy: Retrace runs on Android and iOS, with PC available at the same time. Selected
testers get both PC and mobile access, and saves carry across when you log in with the same
account. Monotype and Dichotomy were Windows PC only, so this is the first Silver Palace test with a
mobile client.

How do I download the Silver Palace beta?

There is no public download. Elementa has not published a client link for Dichotomy: Retrace, and
the test is limited to selected players, who are notified by email or other official channels
after recruitment closes on October 10, 2026. Elementa bans transferring the test client, so any
Retrace download offered publicly is old Dichotomy material or a scam. The download
guide
covers what the Dichotomy PC client was.

When is the third Silver Palace beta test?

The test dates have not been announced. Recruitment opened on September 23, 2026 and closes on
October 10, 2026 at 18:00 (UTC+8). Elementa says selected Detectives will be notified directly, and
that the time qualification results go out will be confirmed later. Dichotomy recruitment opened 27
days before that test started, which is the only prior reference.

I qualified through the Dichotomy surveys. Am I already in?

Not until you submit the Retrace recruitment survey. Players who obtained access through the
Dichotomy Beta Test must complete the new survey and provide additional information, and are then
granted access directly. Players who do not submit it receive no further notifications or
invitations about the test.

How do I check whether I qualified through Dichotomy?

Register and log in to an Elementa Passport account using the same email address you used for the
Dichotomy Beta Test, then open the survey results page Elementa published on August 26, 2026.
Eligibility is tied to that email. A yes there still needs the Retrace survey submitted before
October 10.

Can I still get into the third beta test if I missed Dichotomy?

Yes. The Dichotomy: Retrace recruitment survey is open to new applicants aged 18 and over until
October 10, 2026 at 18:00 (UTC+8). Submitting it enters you for selection. It does not guarantee a
place.

Can I buy access to the third beta test?

No. Elementa bans transferring or selling test clients and accounts and revokes access for anyone
caught doing it. Access also binds to the device used for the first login, and changing devices
during the test gets the account banned, so a purchased account bans on the first sign-in from
your hardware.
